Is this for me?

What Socius Trades does, and what it does not do.

What is Socius Trades?+

A trading analytics tool. You connect your broker account in read-only mode, your closed trades are imported automatically, and the platform turns that history into clear, readable metrics — win rate, risk-to-reward, drawdown, performance by instrument and by session.

No spreadsheet, no manual entry. Each figure is explained where it appears, so the numbers stay usable whether or not you already know them.

Was this helpful?
Does Socius Trades tell me what to trade?+

No. There are no signals, no recommendations and no forecasts. Socius Trades analyses trades you have already taken. Every decision remains yours.

Was this helpful?
Can it place trades or move money in my account?+

No. Broker connections are read-only: we can read your account information, positions and trade history. We cannot open or close a position, and we have no access to deposits or withdrawals.

Was this helpful?
Which brokers and platforms are supported?+

cTrader and MetaTrader 4 / 5. Because they are the platforms used by most brokers and prop firms, accounts with firms such as FTMO, FundedNext, WeGetFunded or FP Trading connect the same way as a retail account.

Support for more platforms is planned. If yours is not listed, write to support@sociustrades.com so we can take it into account.

Was this helpful?
Do I need a broker account to try it?+

No. The Free plan gives you the dashboard, the economic calendar, the position calculator, Socius Chart and the community hub without connecting anything. Broker connections and the analytics built on them start with the Essential plan.

Was this helpful?
Is it suitable for beginners?+

Yes. Nothing in the platform assumes prior knowledge of performance metrics, and each figure is explained where it appears. You do need enough trading history for the statistics to be meaningful.

Was this helpful?
Is Socius Trades a broker, or regulated as one?+

Neither. Socius Trades is an analytics tool. It holds no funds, executes no orders and provides no investment advice. Your money stays with your broker.

Getting started

Creating an account and finding your way around.

How do I create an account?+

With an email address and a password, or with your Google account in one click. Email sign-ups receive a confirmation link; the account activates once you follow it.

Was this helpful?
I never received the confirmation email.+

Check your spam folder first. If it still has not arrived after a few minutes, sign up again with the same address, or write to support@sociustrades.com and we will activate it manually.

Was this helpful?
Do I need a card to use the Free plan?+

No. The Free plan requires no payment method and does not expire.

Is Socius Trades available in other languages?+

The interface is available in English and French today, and switches automatically based on your browser. You can change it at any time in Settings → Account Settings.

More languages are planned.

Connecting a broker

The step that populates your dashboard.

How do I connect a cTrader account?+

Go to Connect broker and choose cTrader. You are sent to the Spotware login page, you approve read-only access there, and you are redirected back. Your cTrader password is never typed into Socius Trades — the authorisation is handled entirely by Spotware.

Was this helpful?
How do I connect a MetaTrader 4 or 5 account?+

There are two ways. The standard one, included from the Essential plan, is the Socius Sync EA: a small read-only program you attach to your own MetaTrader terminal. Your broker password never leaves your computer — the EA only sends your closed trades and account balance. The step-by-step guide is just below.

The second, MetaApi cloud (Ultimate plan), needs no terminal running: you enter your server name, account number and password, and we open a read-only session with your broker server. What you enter is encrypted with AES-256 before storage, never displayed back, and used only to read your trades.

Tip (MetaApi cloud): if your broker provides an investor password, use that one. It shows everything about the account but cannot place orders, which is all a read-only tool needs.
Was this helpful?
How do I set up the Socius Sync EA, step by step?+

Allow about five minutes. The EA is strictly read-only: it can never place, modify or close an order.

  • 1. On Connect broker, open the MetaTrader tile, click Connect via the EA and generate your personal token. Keep the window open.
  • 2. Download the file for your platform: Socius_Sync.ex4 (MT4) or Socius_Sync.ex5 (MT5).
  • 3. In MetaTrader: File → Open Data FolderMQL4\Experts (or MQL5\Experts) → copy the file there, then right-click Expert Advisors → Refresh in the terminal’s Navigator (or restart the terminal).
  • 4. Tools → Options → Expert Advisors: tick Allow algorithmic trading and Allow WebRequest for listed URL, then add https://www.sociustrades.com. Despite its name, “algorithmic trading” only allows the EA to run — Socius Sync never trades.
  • 5. Check that the Algo Trading button in the toolbar is active (green). If the EA icon on the chart shows a sad face, this button is the reason.
  • 6. Drag Socius_Sync from the Navigator onto any chart, paste your token into the Socius token field, and click OK.

Within a minute, the Experts tab of the terminal shows a [Socius] start-up message and your account appears on the Connect broker page. The first run uploads your full history in batches; after that, newly closed trades sync every minute.

Good to know: one chart per account is enough — the EA reads the whole account’s history, every symbol included. Two limits: the EA syncs only while your MetaTrader terminal is open, and on MT4, set the Account History tab to All history (right-click in the tab), otherwise the initial import stops at what the terminal displays.

Where do I find my MetaTrader server name?+

In the MetaTrader terminal, it appears at the bottom right of the window and under File → Open an account. It is also in the welcome email your broker sent when the account was created — something like ICMarketsSC-Live12. The name must match exactly, including capitalisation.

Was this helpful?
My connection was refused. What now?+

The cause is usually one of three: a server name that does not match exactly, a password copied with a trailing space, or an account archived by the broker after a period of inactivity.

Check those, then try again. Repeated failed attempts are temporarily blocked, because brokers rate-limit authentication and repeated failures can lock an account. If the problem persists, contact support rather than retrying.

How many accounts can I connect?+
PlanBroker accountsHistory
Free
Essential130 days
Pro31 year
UltimateUnlimited5 years
Was this helpful?
Can I mix cTrader and MetaTrader accounts?+

Yes. Accounts from both platforms sit side by side, and you switch between them from the account selector. A Pro subscriber could hold two prop-firm cTrader accounts and one personal MT5 account.

Was this helpful?
How far back does my history go?+

We import what your broker still holds, then keep it according to your plan: 30 days on Essential, one year on Pro, five years on Ultimate. Brokers differ in how much history they expose, and prop firms often reset accounts, so a first import is sometimes shorter than expected.

Was this helpful?
How often does my data refresh?+

Each time you open the dashboard or analytics. Open positions are read live from your broker; closed trades are stored, so your history remains available after an account is disconnected.

Was this helpful?
What is the difference between disconnecting and deleting?+

Disconnect stops the syncing and hides the account while keeping every closed trade. The slot it occupied is freed for another account, and you can reconnect later with the history intact.

Delete permanently erases the account and its history. This cannot be undone.

Was this helpful?
What happens to my accounts if I downgrade or cancel?+

Accounts beyond the limit of your new plan are disconnected, not deleted, and their history is preserved. You can reconnect them when you upgrade again or when a slot frees up.

Dashboard

Your starting screen, and how to read it.

What does the dashboard show?+

The current state of your account: balance and equity, open positions with their live profit or loss, recent closed trades, and headline figures such as win rate and average risk-to-reward.

Was this helpful?
Why is my dashboard empty?+

Because no broker account is connected, or because the connected account has no trades in the period shown. The dashboard displays your own data only and does not substitute sample figures.

Was this helpful?
I have several accounts. How do I switch between them?+

An account selector appears above the dashboard as soon as you have more than one. Select an account and every figure on the page refers to it.

Accounts are shown one at a time. There is no combined view across several accounts at present.

Was this helpful?
The figures do not match my broker terminal exactly.+

Small differences are expected and usually come from swap and commission timing, or from a position that closed between two reads. Large or persistent gaps are not expected — send us the account and the trade concerned.

Analytics

Where the history becomes usable.

What does the analytics page measure?+

Your performance broken down by instrument, by session and time of day, by day of the week, by direction and by holding time, alongside the standard figures: win rate, average win and loss, risk-to-reward, profit factor and drawdown.

Was this helpful?
Can I export my analysis as a PDF?+

Yes. The Export PDF button at the top of the analytics page produces a branded report of the period and account currently displayed, from Essential upwards.

The button is inactive while data is loading, and when the current filters return no trades.

Was this helpful?
Why does my history stop after 30 days?+

That is the Essential window. Pro extends it to one year and Ultimate to five. Upgrading widens the window on the history already imported.

Was this helpful?
What counts as a trade?+

A closed position, as reported by your broker. Positions still open appear on the dashboard but are excluded from performance statistics until they close, so unrealised profit does not affect the figures.

Socius AI

An assistant that has read your trading history.

What can Socius AI do?+

Answer questions about your own trading in plain language: where your losses concentrate, whether a pattern you suspect is present in the data, what distinguishes one period from another. It reasons over your trade history rather than over general market commentary.

Was this helpful?
What data does it see?+

Your trading data and the questions you ask. It has no access to your broker credentials, your payment details or the data of other users.

Was this helpful?
Are my conversations stored?+

Yes, so you can return to them. They remain available for as long as your account exists, and you can delete any conversation at any time, which removes it from our database. Full details in the privacy policy.

Was this helpful?
Will it give me trade ideas?+

No. Socius AI comments on trades you have already taken. It does not suggest positions, forecast prices or advise on what to do next.

Was this helpful?
Which plans include it?+

Essential, Pro and Ultimate. It is not available on Free, as it requires a connected account to have data to analyse.

Chart, calendar & calculator

The tools that work with or without a broker connected.

What is Socius Chart?+

A price chart for following the instruments you trade, available on every plan including Free.

Was this helpful?
What is in the economic calendar?+

Scheduled macroeconomic releases with their expected impact, filterable by country and importance, displayed in your own timezone. The timezone is set in Settings.

Was this helpful?
What does the position calculator do?+

Given your account size, the risk you are willing to take and your stop distance, it returns the corresponding position size. It also shows the risk-to-reward of a setup. It covers forex pairs, metals, energies and the main indices.

Was this helpful?
What is the community hub?+

A space to exchange with other Socius Trades users, available on every plan. What you share there is governed by your privacy settings.

Settings

Everything you can adjust, grouped as you will find it.

What can I change in Settings?+
  • Profile & Privacy — photo, username, bio, and what other users can see
  • Account & Security — email, password, two-factor authentication, language, timezone, theme, active sessions
  • Billing — plan, payment methods, invoices
  • Notifications — alerts, social notifications, email preferences
Was this helpful?
How do I turn on two-factor authentication?+

In Account Settings. Once enabled, a code from your authenticator app is required at each sign-in.

Was this helpful?
What are active sessions?+

The list of devices currently signed in to your account. If you see one you do not recognise, end it and change your password.

Was this helpful?
Can I switch between light and dark?+

Yes, in Settings. Dark is the default.

Was this helpful?
How do I change the timezone used for my trades?+

In Account Settings. It applies to trade timestamps, the session breakdown in analytics and the economic calendar, so it should match the timezone you trade in.

Was this helpful?
How do I delete my account?+

From Account Settings. Deletion is permanent and removes your trades, your AI conversations and your broker connections. Cancel any active subscription first.

Plans & billing

Prices, changes, invoices and cancellation.

What do the plans cost?+
PlanMonthly
Free€0
Essential€12.99
Pro€27.99
Ultimate€49.99

Annual billing is available at a lower effective rate. Full details on the pricing page.

Was this helpful?
Which payment methods do you accept?+

Visa, Mastercard and American Express, processed by Stripe. Card details are handled by Stripe and do not reach our servers.

Was this helpful?
Can I change plan at any time?+

Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated against what you have already paid. Downgrades take effect at the end of the period you have paid for, so you keep the higher plan until then.

Was this helpful?
Is there a commitment?+

No. You can cancel at any time from Settings. Your plan stays active until the end of the period already paid, then reverts to Free.

Was this helpful?
Can I get a refund?+

Once a billing period has started, it is not refunded — you keep full access until it ends, whether you cancel or move to a lower plan.

If you are a consumer in the European Union or the EEA, a statutory right of withdrawal applies to your first subscription. The conditions, including the cases in which it no longer applies, are set out in section 7 of the Terms of Service.

If a charge is incorrect — billed twice, or a plan that did not activate — write to support@sociustrades.com.

Was this helpful?
Where do I find my invoices?+

Under Settings → Billing History. Each invoice can be downloaded.

Was this helpful?
What happens if a payment fails?+

Stripe retries over several days and notifies you. Update the card under Payment Methods. If every attempt fails, the subscription ends and the account returns to Free. Your history is kept.

Data & security

What we hold, where it goes, and how to retrieve it.

How is my data protected?+

Encrypted in transit and at rest. Broker credentials and access tokens carry an additional layer of AES-256 encryption, are never readable in the interface, and are deleted with your account.

Was this helpful?
Who else processes my data?+

A small number of named providers, each for one purpose: Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), MetaApi (MetaTrader connections) and Anthropic (Socius AI). Each is listed with its role and location in the privacy policy.

Was this helpful?
Do you sell my data?+

No. Your trading data is not sold, rented or shared with advertisers.

Was this helpful?
Can I download a copy of my data?+

Yes, from Settings → Privacy. The file covers your account and profile, your privacy settings, your subscription, your invoices and your registered payment methods.

Under GDPR you also have rights of access, rectification, erasure and portability. To exercise any of them, or to request data the download does not yet include, write to support@sociustrades.com.

Was this helpful?
Where is my data hosted?+

Within the European Union. Where a provider operates outside the EU, transfers are covered by the appropriate safeguards, set out in the privacy policy.

Was this helpful?
If I disconnect an account, is the data erased?+

Not immediately: closed trades are kept so you can reconnect later without losing them. To erase them, delete the account permanently or delete your Socius Trades account.

Was this helpful?
Which cookies do you use?+

Strictly necessary cookies for sign-in and your preferences, plus analytics and advertising cookies only if you accept them. You can change your choice at any time from “Cookie Settings” in the footer, or read the cookie policy.
